Growing up, Alan enjoyed mathematics and was curious about how buildings remained standing after earthquakes. This led him to pursuing a career as an engineer. Today, as a science and civil engineer, he specializes in geotechnics and has participated in geotechnical exploration and characterization campaigns for mine and tailings projects across Chile.
Alan has experience in soil mechanics, fieldwork, design, risk assessment, modeling, and monitoring for projects related to tailings storage facilities. He collaborates in field campaigns and prepares project deliverables. Additionally, he’s authored articles and presented at two international tailings conferences.
When he isn’t working on tailings projects, Alan loves competing in sprint events and 5k races. He also enjoys playing soccer and volleyball with friends, playing board games, and traveling to explore the world.
