From education to healthcare, civic and justice to cultural, research to multi-family housing, each project Yan designs derives from his philosophy of storytelling and connecting history, culture, and place. He’s known for championing biophilic design, embodied carbon reduction, and the integration of art and architecture. From this, he’s earned a number of awards and features in industry publications, such as Urban Land Magazine, Building Design + Construction, and ArchDaily, throughout his 25-year career.
As the design director for our US West Buildings group, Yan is responsible for driving design culture, quality, and brand. He oversees the creative direction of projects, guiding them to meet both aesthetic and functional requirements while adhering to client specifications and industry standards.
