Rachel strives for an individual-level understanding of public health issues and empowers communities to become more involved in their well-being. She manages comprehensive community health assessments, syndromic surveillance and reporting, and substance use data representation and prevention planning. Her goal is to find common ground with the clients and the individuals we serve to achieve the most equitable outcomes.
As our community epidemiology initiative lead, Rachel focuses on increasing community knowledge and engagement on public health topics. She conducts epidemiologic data analysis and visualization, public-facing presentations and health briefs, widespread surveying, and technical report writing. She’s skilled at collecting data for projects spanning health policy, patient research, community health assessments, and risk assessments.
When she isn’t involved in public health practice, Rachel enjoys volunteering in the community. She also finds joy in water, whether it’s cold-water ocean dipping, canoeing, and walking on the beach with her husband and miniature poodle, Sadie.?
