For Kyle, becoming a land surveyor was a natural choice. The opportunity to work outdoors, leverage the latest tech (or as he fondly calls them, “toys”), and apply his mathematical skills made the profession a perfect fit. Discovering the archaeological side of surveying only deepened his interest—getting to research historical records, trace property lines, and uncover physical evidence in the field.
Since entering the profession, Kyle has witnessed the evolution of a number of communities firsthand. He’s been involved in every stage of the process, bringing projects from field to finish. Central to his work is a deep respect for the legislated responsibility land surveyors carry to protect the public. He never loses sight of the broader impact his work has on neighboring landowners. Every boundary he interprets or retraces could affect someone else, and that awareness drives his commitment to fairness and accuracy.
When he’s not charting boundaries or leading the Community Development business center, Kyle and his wife are avid travelers. He recommends Namibia for its breathtaking landscapes, Vietnam for its incredible cuisine, and Egypt for its awe-inspiring history.
