Royal Geelong Yacht Club - Engineering Services
Part of the Geelong Waterfront Safe Harbour Precinct, this first stage of the Royal Geelong Yacht Club redevelopment included a new building to host the Victorian Sailing Centre and Off The Beach sailing program. As an integrated delivery partner alongside designer Terroir, we supported the project from concept through to construction. We delivered full engineering services across structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, hydraulics, acoustics, fire safety, sustainability, vertical transportation, and traffic.
Delivered during a period marked by COVID-related delays and complex site constraints, this project tested both our technical skills and collaborative resilience. Working alongside the Yacht Club, Terroir, OTTO Construction Group, Tract, and Case Meallin, our team overcame challenges to help bring this iconic new community facility to life.
Designed by Terroir, the building¡¯s sail-like roof anchors it in place¡ªrising from a pedestrian-friendly scale on Eastern Beach Road to a soaring presence above the hardstand, offering views to Corio Bay. The facility will allow for expanded programs for young sailors and increased opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to access the water through the Club¡¯s Sailability initiative.
