With over 20 years' geotechnical engineering experience, Alan has worked on a diverse range of projects across the UK and throughout the world. From cold and wet railway cuttings in England to bridges and highways in the hot and humid rainforests of Guyana, each project has presented him with unique and complex geotechnical challenges to overcome.
Alan has extensive knowledge of both onshore and nearshore intrusive ground investigation, as well as the use of rope access techniques to complete surveys and inspections at height. Through his geotechnical work, he’s gained a detailed understanding of best practice engineering design and a deep commitment to technical excellence and the health and safety of not only the project team, but to the communities they work in.
As he travels around, Alan tries to collect a piece of rock from various project sites, hoping to someday make a small patio out of all the pieces.
